Quick update about two awesome days

Jan 31 and Feb 1, 2011

I've just finished my hospital rotation with SPEP - a big story for another day. I just wanted to write about my two days of freedom so far!

Jan 31
-met up with Maryam for coffee just to catch up; it was wonderful to have an opportunity to talk about SPEP, Toronto and also to hear from her how she is doing in her life, school and school involvement
-ended up eating my lunch in the PhUS lounge, where I saw Roger, Herb, Gloria, Rince and Michael X
-bussed to VGH to get my evaluation from my preceptor, which went really well
-spent some time with Joey
-had a wonderful dinner at Candia with Cindy, who I haven't seen in 8 months. We (nerds that we are) talked to some extent about drugs and biologics, but we also talked about Toronto, SF, and about our future directions and families a little too. Had a great time sharing stories.

Feb 1
-bussed to UBC, with Adrian (randomly). Even though he is my neighbour I don't see him as much. I always admire how dedicated he is to going out there to find co-op opportunities, and we had a good chat on the bus.
-attended Pneumonia lecture
-met with Steph W for coffee to talk about JP and life in general. She is so visibly happy, it is heartwarming to see.
-had lunch in PhUS lounge again where I talked to Lily (talked about her road trip and also about coupons), Helen and Steph
-had coffee with Sandra; it was good to see that she was doing well, not too much from an update perspective but I know what she is focussing on and it's probably best to take things one at a time. We also talked a little about my own insecurities and the importance of relationships.
-met Marion briefly
-as I was lining up to bus to St. Paul's, bumped into Rachel in the middle of her midterm stress, but glad to see she is still doing well!
-met with Kathy at St. Paul's to go over our project
-spent some time in the UBC library at St. Paul's reading my library book
-had Chinese New Year's dinner with Joey and her parents at Chongqing
-was driven to Aberdeen and ended up browsing the stalls there for New Year's

Happy Year of the Rabbit!
